Privacy Policy

Overview

Cue is made by Vegard Lundeberg Hillestad. This policy covers Cue — events, decisions, trips, channels and chat — and Cue Notes, on the web at getcue.net and in the Cue and Cue Notes apps. One Cue account works in all of them.

What We Collect

• Your account — name, email address and profile picture from Google, Apple or an email sign-in, and the @handle, bio and cover you choose to add.
• What you create — events and your responses, decisions and your preferences, trips, channels, messages, and notes with their earlier versions.
• Photos, videos and files you upload, to an event, a trip, a chat or a note.
• Your devices — notification tokens and active sign-in sessions.
• Technical data — your IP address and request logs, used to keep Cue secure and working, for example to limit abuse.

How We Use It

• To run Cue — sending invitations, finding the best time, keeping a note in step as people write in it together.
• To notify you about the things you are part of.
• To fix problems and keep the service reliable.

Who Sees It

Only the people you share with. Your name and what you write are visible to the others in the same event, decision, trip, channel, chat or note — and your profile to everyone only if you make it public. A note stays private until you add someone to it or share its link.

AI Features

Some features use Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud: the suggested meeting time, decision recommendations and Option Insights, AI participants in chats, weather summaries, and Clean up in Cue Notes. Each sends only what that feature needs — an event's responses, a decision's options, or the note (or selection) you asked to clean up — and Clean up runs only when you ask for it. Under Google Cloud's terms, this content is not used to train Google's models.

Services We Rely On

• Google and Apple — sign-in. We never receive or store your passwords.
• Google Cloud — the AI features above, and notifications on Android.
• Apple — notifications on iPhone and Mac.
• Hetzner — the servers Cue runs on.
• Cloudflare — the network in front of Cue, and storage for photos, videos and files.
• Brevo — delivery of sign-in codes and invitation emails.
• yr.no — weather forecasts, sent only an event's location.

Keeping and Deleting

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile or account screen in the app — how to delete your account lists the steps, and exactly what is deleted and kept. Notes you own that others are in pass to them, so nobody loses their work.

Your Choices

• Decline an invitation, or leave an event, trip, channel or note, at any time.
• Export any note as a markdown file.
• Manage notifications in your device's settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
