Delete Your Account
Last updated: August 8, 2026
Cue is a group-coordination app published by Vegard Lundeberg Hillestad. This page explains how to request that your Cue account and its data be deleted, and exactly what is deleted, what is kept, and for how long.
Delete your account yourself
This is the fastest route and works from any device, including your phone.
- Go to getcue.net in any browser and sign in the way you normally do — Google, Apple, or an email code.
- Open Profile → Account, or go straight to getcue.net/profile#account.
- Click Delete account.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation box.
- Click Delete my account.
The deletion runs immediately. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it or recover the account afterwards — you are signed out on every device at once.
In the Cue app for iPhone, iPad or Mac the same action lives at Profile → Account → Delete Account, confirmed twice.
If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to your sign-in method and cannot reach the Profile screen, email [email protected] and we will delete the account for you.
- Send the message from the email address on the account, if you still can.
- Use the subject Delete my account.
- Include the email address you signed up with, and your @handle if you know it.
We confirm that you control the address before deleting anything. The account is then removed exactly as described below — normally within a few days, and always within 30 days — and we reply to confirm when it is done. If you can still sign in, use the steps above instead: they are instant and need no one's help.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile — name, @handle, email address, profile picture, bio, cover image, and the links to your Google, Apple and email sign-in.
- Events you created, together with their proposed times, invitations and everyone's responses.
- Your invitations and responses to other people's events.
- Every message you sent — event chats, direct messages, channels, decision chats and trip chats — plus your reactions and read positions.
- Decisions you created, and the options and preferences you added to any decision.
- Channels you own, with their messages, membership and join requests.
- Your trip memberships, diary entries, itinerary items and album additions. A trip you were the last member of is deleted along with its content.
- Photos, videos and files you uploaded, with the thumbnails and video renditions generated from them.
- Your devices and alerts — push-notification tokens, notification history and active sign-in sessions.
- AI participants you created in your own events and decisions.
What is kept
- Other people's content stays. Events, decisions, trips and channels created by others, and the messages other people wrote, belong to them and are unaffected. You simply no longer appear in them.
- AI participants you added to someone else's event or decision are handed over to that event's or decision's creator so the conversation keeps working. They are no longer connected to you.
- Records that only noted an action — who created a channel, who added a member, who approved a join request, who linked something to a trip — keep the record and drop your name from it.
Retention period
- Live data is removed immediately. Nothing is hidden, archived or soft-deleted for later.
- Backups roll off within about three days. The database is backed up nightly and only the three most recent backups are kept, so a copy of your data can remain inside a backup for up to about three days before it is overwritten. Backups exist for disaster recovery and are never used to bring a deleted account back.
Deleting the app is not the same thing
Uninstalling Cue from your phone removes the app, not the account. Your data stays on Cue's servers until you delete the account using the steps above.
